Portland, Oregon, July 30, 2023 - In Portland, Oregon, the first all-electric Freightliner eCascadia hit the streets. TITAN Freight Systems hosted the momentous unveiling event, marking a significant milestone in sustainable transportation.


Leading the charge in embracing electric vehicles, TITAN Freight Systems' President and CEO, Keith Wilson, expressed his commitment to advanced clean technology. He declared that these heavy-duty electric trucks were a vital step towards the company's journey to becoming carbon neutral. Wilson plans to replace the entire fleet with electric trucks, emphasizing the need to reduce fossil fuel consumption in the trucking industry, with assistance from the Columbia-Willamette Clean Cities Coalition.


The event featured prominent speakers such as Oregon U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, and Metro President Lynn Peterson. Bonamici stressed the necessity of transitioning the transportation sector, including the freight industry, to electricity, citing the urgency to address climate change and build a sustainable world. Daimler Truck North America, the manufacturer of the eCascadia in Portland, showcased their partnership with TITAN Freight Systems. David Carson, the vice president of sales and marketing, emphasized the company's dedication to creating a clean future.


With the eCascadia leading the charge, TITAN Freight Systems and its partners have set a remarkable example for the industry. The heavy-duty all-electric truck brings hope for a future where cleaner transportation becomes the new norm, aligning with Oregon's commitment to sustainability and clean fuels.
